The South African NQF

The NQF in South Africa is a ten-level framework that comprises three sub-frameworks, namely the General and Further Education and Training Qualifications Sub-Framework, the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-Framework and the Occupational Qualifications Sub-Framework. These sub-frameworks have been developed and are managed by the three respective Quality Councils, that is the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), Council on Higher Education (CHE) and the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
